Robert Hitz

Robert Hitz

Robert Hitz is an engaging and intuitive pianist and composer. An artist of depth and diversity. His performances span many musical styles; New Age, Classical, Latin/Jazz are all part of the fabric that is woven by Robert. His dialogue, improvisation, and ease of pianism make his concerts exciting and spontaneous. His compositions can be simple and of great tenderness, or dazzling with the excitement of virtuosity.

Robert has performed throughout the United States and Europe for many years in such varied venues as pianist and harpsichordist in music from the Renaissance to his own music of today. He has presented his “Afternoon Nocturnes” and “River of Life” to both New Age/Jazz and Classical audiences and has found a common thread of connection for all. His “Afternoon Nocturnes” and “River of Life” CDs, feature the beautiful melodies he is known for along with pulsing neo-oriental fantasies filled with evocative and romantic sensuousness.

His CD project “I Expand to the Infinite,” with Rev. James Lockard, offer the listener a path to enhanced spiritual direction with the support of music to Spiritual Mind Treatments. A wonderful blending of New Thought and timeless music. His latest CD with Sheron McGuire CYT, “Yogabundance,” is a gentle session of Kripalu yoga set to gentle piano music composed by Robert for use with yoga. The music will be released separately later in 2002.

Robert is president of the Baltimore Composers Forum, a member of the American Music Center, NARAS, and ASCAP. He has written for piano, voice, chorus, and film and is working on a variety of new projects. He currently travels nationwide giving concerts, workshops, and lectures.
